The Institute for Pastoral Development provides development training to lay, religious and clergy to empower them to assist in the Church’s missionary tasks. Its responsibility includes providing practical training to people aiming to be more effective followers of God and leaders
of His people.

IPD do not show you where you are supposed to go. Rather, we
provide the skills to make you aware of the destination possibilities
and equip you with the skills to get there.
Ang Ligaya ng Panginoon (Joy of the Lord), Manila, a covenanted community led by Fr. Herbert Schneider, S.J. founded the IPD together with Rev. Malcolm Bradshaw, in 1982, to be a Catholic lay training institute.
