MAKING AN IMPACT IN MY LIFE AS A RELIGIOUS BROTHER

IPD through Scripture Ventures, made an impact in my life today as a Religious Brother. All the courses and the people were wonderful! The courses I liked most were John C. Maxwell’s 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership and the Joy of Discovery in Bible Study.
Besides helping me in my personal life, especially in character building, the former really helped me in my role as Director of Vocations (from 2001 up to the present) for my congregation, the Alexian Brothers. It also helped me in my role as Chairman of Directors of Vocations in the Philippines-Davao Chapter (until 2006). It is helping me as Chairman of the Association of Mindanao-Sulu Religious Brothers (2005-2008). and as concurrent Chairman of the National Federation of Religious Brothers in the Philippines(2005-2008). It is going to help me as well in my role as Chairman of the Board of Trustess of Care for the Elderly Foundation in Davao City. Of course, those titles do not make me a leader. And I still have a lot to learn because I still do not obey many of the laws — and boy, do they haunt me!
The Joy of Discovery in Bible Study is what the course title says. It is — a joy! To be a man of prayer is one that is on top of my list of priorities. I do not have a halo on my head yet and I still do not have a pose for my saintly statue (laughter!), but that course has helped me love Scriptures and prayer more!
